Overlook Mountain Fire Tower, Catskills

A climb to the fire tower on Overlook Mountain in the Catskills. The trail leaves from Meads Meadow above Woodstock and follows an old carriage road past the ruins of the Overlook Mountain House, the hotel that was started and never finished, then tops out at 3,140 feet where the fire tower opens up the whole Hudson Valley and the Ashokan Reservoir. About 5 miles round trip, with history the entire way up.
